What Mark said. And 1.10.2 appears to be the latest WGET and it's
18 months old! CURL, on the other hand, was just updated April 11.
I like having options, so while I find myself leaning towards CURL
usage lately, I am disappointed that WGET seems to be languishing.
I have built both recently and placed my build logic at
http://www.casita.net/pub/curl/curl-7.16.2.mak
-and-
http://www.casita.net/pub/wget/wget-1.10.2.mak
It's a multi-platform and non-instrusive build, something you could
add to your Linux systems without having to play RPM. (There are reasons
one might want to do this. At home, my NFS server houses Linux (various
HW platforms), CYGWIN, and FreeBSD side-by-side.) Be sure to also fetch
the 'setup' script if you are interested in these. Recently built
successfully on Linux (PC), CYGWIN, and FreeBSD.
Enjoy!
