Hi, Paul. Given the situation you're now in, my recommendation would be to take things one step at a time. when moving work from another platform over to zLinux, the first step is simply to get it to work in the new environment, hopefully with as few changes as possible.
Once the workload is up and running, considerations can then be given to exploiting, if needed, the z/VM specific enhancements available; e.g. XIP2, DCSS data sharing, etc. Good luck, and let us know how your project turns out. Feller, Paul wrote:
Thanks for all of the replies that I have received. One of my concerns is that we have at this point only done one application on Linux. That application was a new type of work load. That we are planning on doing next is move some work load from other platforms over to the mainframe. My concern is that there are enough challenges with moving the work load without also trying to do the DCSS stuff at the same time. Thanks Paul
