We did a similar migration in late 2004. The Linux TSM server continued using the same IBM 3494 tape library the z/OS TSM server had used. TSM is still using that same library today. We have used 3592 drives under SLES 8 and SLES 9, with both configurations officially supported. I would expect SLES 10 to continue that support, but I have not had occasion to check the documentation. TSM under mainframe Linux supports 3592 drives only if they are connected by FCP. If you have FICON drives on your z/OS system I am not sure how difficult it will be to convert them to FCP. We only had ESCON 3590 drives on our z/OS TCP server. When we migrated it was cheaper to buy a used FCP 3590 than to convert an ESCON 3590 to FCP. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
