Would he be wanting to check the -src for the signature, or the noarch one?
If he's trying to install the product, he isn't likely going after the -src
rpm at all.

My thought would be to
Rpm --checksig \
/sles10/sles10root/dvd1/suse/noarch/xalan-j2-2.6.0-21.2.noarch.rpm

And see what it says about this file. Or does it actually install from
source?
