I just want to make sure I understand. If I have two CPs and one IFL, then I could have two LPARs, one with CP1 dedicated and CP2 shared, and a second LPAR that has CP2 shared and an IFL. Then I can run z/OS in the first LPAR and Linux in the second LPAR, and CP2 would be used by both. Right?

IFLs are available to both kinds of partitions. But regardless of the type of partition, you cannot mix IFLs with other processor types within a single partition.
