Peter, Yes, I saw that PTF (which I don't have). That was my next action. Thanks for pointing that out!

Somehow this confuses z/VM so that the ram disk would be corrupted in memory and an attempt to unpack it would fail randomly. The solution was to install a VM PTF (as documented in the SLES10 SP1 release notes): APAR VM63742: * z/VM 4.4: UM31426 * z/VM 5.1: UM31428 Regards, Peter -- Peter Oberparleiter Linux on System z Development IBM Deutschland Entwicklung GmbH ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
