In your case these are the SCSI/ZFCP drivers for IBM tapes. (Note to Mark:
yes this one was an OCO, even after we got rid of the 3590 channel
attached tape driver ;-)). Lintape is the new approach to have the driver
open source. More or less they should be the same and IBMtape might not
get much further development.

I only had a brief experience with it and that was a little time ago. At
this time the new driver had a bit of problems with udev integration (if I
remember correctly it didn't create the correct kobjects but required a
daemon to create the nodes). But that might be resolved by now.
