All the specialty engines have different names for a good reason. They do different things, with different micro-code. So, you CANNOT share one between LINUX as an IFL, and z/OS as a zAAP. So, management would NOT see this as a good thing. If you run z/VM under a general purpose CP, you may have software licensing issues. You need to balance the cost of acquiring an IFL with z/VM and zLINUX vs doing it with a GP. And, I believe you stated the GP's were at (near capacity), so you may need to acquire another GP. That again, is a costing issue. Wishing for zAAP support under zLINUX is moot. You have to work with what you have. - Too busy driving to stop for gas! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
