I haven't heard of anyone doing it, but that doesn't mean a whole lot. I do know that making Informix available for Linux on System z was one of the first things IBM did after acquiring it. I would suspect it should work fine, given the amount of time since then. If you proceed with the proof of concept, be sure to let the rest of us know how it went, good or bad.
