We're doing great with DB2 on zLinux, and I've heard a lot positive things 
about Informix on the platform.  Being an Informix 'old timer' I would love to 
try it.  Unfortunately I can't find many Informix positions out there whether 
it's zLinux or any other OS.  Make sure you use DIO if you're not using Raw.  
Unlike DB2 you can use DIO on ECKD.  For the life of me I can't figure out why 
IBM has DIO support for Informix on ECKD but not for DB2.  Even Oracle has DIO 
support.  Go figure.
