Hi all

I had a problem with one of the Linux Lpar's, it looked like something
was looping, I could only get into the HMC's console, saw the system
was hosed,
Did not write down the message number/format etc, thinking I could
check
the log after the system was back up.

System back up and I check /var/log/messages and cannot find the
messages any where.

Does the syslog message file get rotated after a reload ?, what other
log files are there I can check.

Console is not necessarily syslog. Specifically, kernel panics and
that sort of thing often bypass syslog entirely and just barf onto the
system console.

Is there some way to do the moral equivalent of spooling the console
in LPAR? That's what you want.
