Hi Guys
In the absence of local Novell support, as they are both on leave, wondered if
anyone else had any experience of the SuSe 10 starter system.
We have got as far as "Install a New Guest using the Starter System" on Page 28
of the Starter System Installation Guide and created the new virtual machine
using the notes in "CP Directory Entry Notes".
Then following "Starting the Install Process" on Page 30, these are the steps:
enter - SLES
Select - 4) Start Installation or System
Select - 1) Start Installation or Update
select - 2) Network
select - 1) FTP
select - 1) OSA-2 or OSA Express
select - 1) QDIO
select - 1) Ethernet
get the following -
NET: Registered protocol family 10
lo: Disabled Privacy Extensions
IPv6 over IPv4 tunneling driver
qdio: loading QDIO base support version 2
qeth: loading qeth S/390 OSA-Express driver
0.0.0340 1731/01
0.0.0341 1731/01
0.0.0342 1731/01
Device address for read channel>
enter - 0.0.0340
Device address for write channel>
enter - 0.0.0341

1) Yes
MAC address>
enter - 02-00-01-00-00-08 ( we sued the MAC address of NOVSTART virt m/c
i.e. starter system server)
get the following error message:
qeth: received an IDX TERMINATE with cause code 0xf6
qeth: sense data available on channel 0.0.0340.
qeth: cstat 0x0

there is no mention of MAC address being requested in the install instructions,
