Use Kerberos or NIS, or run either Winbind or PAM to get the user info from a remote source. Since you need to coordinate userids and UIDs across images anyway, that scales better, and you only have to update in one place.
For a small number of ids, NIS is probably simpler to set up, but Kerberos will scale better (and allow you to play nice with AD if you need to). > Is there an easy way to utilize a cloning system where I can copy the > Linux user accounts and passwords ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
