I feel your pain. We were using vi (we have other more colorful names
for it). I've found that nano is a little more straight forward.

Subject: vi alternative?

I was just in text editor hell. Network access was down to to our Linux
guest so I loaded up x3270 and was able to get to the host. I needed
to make a simple edit to a text file when I realized vi doesn't work.
DOH!

Is there an alternative to vi? I was having to echo text into files,
grep -v, etc. etc.

Thanks..
