I feel your pain. We were using vi (we have other more colorful names for it). I've found that nano is a little more straight forward. http://www.nano-editor.org/

I was just in text editor hell. Network access was down to to our Linux guest so I loaded up x3270 and was able to get to the host. I needed to make a simple edit to a text file when I realized vi doesn't work. DOH! Is there an alternative to vi? I was having to echo text into files, grep -v, etc. etc. Thanks.. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
