I suppose if you listen carefully you hear: LEE-nooks but then not everybody will necessarily agree on how to pronounce what I just wrote. The whole point is that whether you say tuh-MAY-toe or tuh-MAH-toe everybody still knows what you mean. As computational linguistics (and common sense) tells us, no two people pronounce everything exactly the same way. Upon realization of that fact, further argument on the point would seem pedantic and obtuse.
