I didn't see any answer to this, so I'll try.  What exactly is the problem?  Is 
the OSA not coming online?  Is the OSA online, but the interface not being 
created?  Is the interface being created, but not activated?

Is this Linux system running on z/VM?  If so, what does "q nic details" and "q 
nic lan details" show?
