Hi,

Can someone help me out .

I am trying to install Sles10. IPL from cd and i am in the process of
configuring the network.
I have an OSA Express 1000baseT card configured as OSE. This card is shared
with z/OS lpars. I have configured the OSA using OSA/SF and
the two z/os lpar is successfully sharing the OSA. I want to use that same
OSA for the SLES10 linux (native mode).

During network configuration:

Network device
i choose 1) OSA2 or OSA Express
CCW bus interface
i choose 2) LCS
Physical Medium
i choose ETHERNET
Then i input the READ and WRITE channel
0.0.1f70 and 0.0.1f71
Relative Port number
I tried 0,1

after i enter the relative port number , i get the following error messages

LCS: check on dev 0.0.1f70 dstat=0x0 cstat=0x4
LCS: check on dev 0.0.1f71 dstat=0x0 cstat=0x4
LCS: check on dev 0.0.1f70 dstat=0x2 cstat=0x0
LCS: check on dev 0.0.1f70 dstat=0x2 cstat=0x0
LCS Detection of LCS card failed with RC -5 (0xfffffffb)

I have a few questions:
1) What is the 'Relative Port Number" ? My card has to chpids, 1
chpid/port, so this should be 0 ? right ?
2) What is error message telling me ?
3) Do we need to use different addresses for the linux lpar, currently all
the z/os lpars and linux lpar use the 1f70-1f71 addresses.

Appreciate some guidance. thanks in advance.

Caleb
