>From Linux:
- Take the interface down
- Take the interface offline

>From z/VM:
- Uncouple the NIC from the Layer 3 VSWITCH
- Grant the guest authorization to connect to the Layer 2 VSWITCH
- Couple the NIC to the Layer 2 VSWITCH
- Update the CP Directory to reflect the new configuration

Back to Linux:
- Modify the definition for the NIC to be Layer 2
- Bring the interface back online
- Bring the interface back up
