Although I certainly appreciate the concept of LinkedIn and what it has to offer (a link to my public profile is in my sig), some people don't have the bandwidth, knowledge or just don't care for that sort of social networking. There could be other reasons for not participating.
MEMO postings are a hold over from before Al Gore invented the internet and are very relevant to the audience of the list. Velocity Software is very graciously hosting the jobs list. Every so often a question comes up about jobs and several people will respond with the URL, or Tony Noto from Velocity will just the URL as a reminder.
