You can also use ACF2/RACF to allow only one boot at a time. And if SHARED disk, one in readonly mode you can not have any writing on that disk at all. There is no aware of changes in the filesystem in readonly node ??

The only way to guarantee one guest at a time has RW access across LPARs is to use CSE XLINK support.. that way each LPAR is aware of RW links by other LPARs.
