It may be easier to use a similar, but slightly different approach.
Just define a placeholder like:

USER CODEDISK NOLOG
  LINK CODEDISK 0401 0400 R
  MDISK 0401 .....
  MDISK 0402 .....
  MDISK 0403 .....

You then start with the code installed on the 401 disk and let users link
the 400 disk.
If you need an update, copy the 400 to the 402 and update the 402.
When satisfied with your updates, modify the link to "LINK CODEDISK 0402
0400 R" and recycle the other servers.
This gives you a stable disk for the Linux servers to work with, and allows
you to test or go back very easily.
