I suggest that if you are comfortable making things from source code you go to http://fuse.sf.net and obtain the up to date version of it (SSHFS) from there, and send it to your system, if you didn't download it there to begin with.
And then after extracting it, promptly follow the usual steps to make and install it. Mark I'm not stepping on your toes here?
