I've noticed that, when a disk (or set of disks) containing the physical extents underlying an LVM volume group is set online with `chccwdev -e` under SLES 11, that volume group is also automatically activated - setting the "open count" for those disks to "2" and preventing such operations as a non-forced dasdfmt or cleanly setting the disk offline unless I first use `vgchange -a n [the activated volume group's name]` to deactivate the automatically-activated volume group.
Does anyone on this list know: 1) Why this changed between SLES 10 and SLES 11? 2) Is there a configuration parameter somewhere to enable/disable this behavior? Thank you. ~ Chris ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to [email protected] with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390
