Thanks for your answers.  We at Perl would be happy to get Perl working
again on EBCDIC machines.  But the people who in the past used it and
helped keep it working, stopped.  What would be required is for someone
with such a machine that has some spare cycles, to donate some of them
for testing purposes.  The basics are covered here:

Once setup, it is essentially automated.  If you know of anyone who
