Rogério,

How about leave out the step "?#cp begin cpu 02". I believe that z/VM owns
the CP after that. After the "define cpu", is cpu3 present?

Hi all,

I have found a quick howto on history list, teaching the steps do add a
cpus dinamic .. but, i have a strange problem:

1) a define on user direct
   CPU ESA 7

2) insert "possible_cpus=4" on zipl.conf
     run mkinitrd
     run zipl

reboot

3) on 3270 terminal of this machine i set:

   #cp define cpu 02 ( i alredy 2 cpus)
   #cp begin cpu 02

4) log on linux, and try insert:
echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online (cpu3 is present )

but, i got the error:

# echo 1 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu3/online
-bash: echo: write error: No such device

I forgot something ?

Thanks.
