Mike, I'm pretty sure this is a 'user error'. Right now, I think I skipped a step or two in the 'Cookbook', where you define a partition on the disk and tell it 'Do not mount, do not format'.

That's probably why you ran into this the second time, but not the first. Did you reformat the disks at the "DASD Management" screen? I'm guessing not. Try the install again making sure you activate and format all disks that will need to become PVs. Also, in the "Add Partition on <dasd>" screen, heed the statement in the Cookbook: "The disk /dev/dasdb1 will be used in a logical volume. Select "Do not format partition" and "Do not mount partition". I believe this will prevent the 4010 error. Hope this helps.
