Two statements from the storage team --

So, does it make sense to anyone that I would have to configure multipath?
Maybe I just need to drink more coffee.
If you don't have multipath configured then a EMC CLARiion CX-500 will
appear to be many separate devices to Linux. The number of fiber cables
between the CX-500 and the fabric switches times the number of fiber
cables between the host and the fabric switches. This may be different
on your CX-700 but on our CX-500 there are two fiber cables from each
side of the CX-500 connected to different fiber switches, So, each LUN
shows up 4 times on Linux even if you only have 1 fiber from the host to
the switches.
