Well, not enough, we really would like to be able to signal from z/VM that:
 'go and get some new data from that cmsfile I have told you the name of 
before'  
without having to use cron.

That way, we can start things without having a number of crons using cpu.
And without delay.

I was reacting to the protocol discussion, not your problem.  Sorry.  ;-)

Linux can both read and write CMS files now.  Does that help you?  (I
don't know what distro has the capability.)
