Hi, I'm trying to install SLES 11 SP1. I IPL the starter system, it finds it's disks and network and the NFS install server. It tries to start the VNC server, but then dies:
starting VNC server... A log file will be written to: /var/log/YaST2/vncserver.log ... *** *** You can connect to 172.110.100.22, display :1 now with vncviewer *** Or use a Java capable browser on http://172.110.100.22:5801/ *** (When YaST2 is finished, close your VNC viewer and return to this window.) *** Starting YaST2 *** /usr/lib/YaST2/startup/YaST2.call: line 516: 2824 Bus error (core dumped) $OPT_FBITERM y2base "$Y2_MODULE_NAME" $Y2_MODE_FLAGS $Y2_MODULE_ARGS $Y 2_MODE $Y2_UI_ARGS *** An error occurred during the installation. Main Menu 1) Start Installation 2) Settings 3) Expert 4) Exit or Reboot I have *never* seen this error before. =============================== Did some more digging before posting - this happened on the "other" member of a 2 node SSI. I went back to the first member and I did not get this. DirMaint is running so the directories should be identical. I'll still post for the good of the community, but now have a workaround ...
