It's not a technical problem. They don't see a financial case for it (at least 
for them). As far as I can tell, they are trying to reduce the number of 
"server" type machines they support in favor of platforms that sell more copies 
and thus generate more income. I don't like it, but I can see why they think 
that way.

One of the reasons I suggested R is that it builds cleanly on all the Linux on 
Z distributions.
