This was an interesting issue. We had a local NFS repository configured
and enabled to all our Linux server guests. I had no idea what was going
on as this was working fine last night. I ran a:

zypper update

which revealed the that there was no access to the offending NFS
repository. This repository was on a server next to me which I unplugged
from the network so that I could plug my laptop into. This prevented any
updates from any repositories showing up in YaST2. I ended up disabling
this repository for now and all is working again.

I was unaware that the unavailability of one repository prevents the whole
process, even when the Novell?s repositories are enabled and selected.
Does this make sense?

Peter

That's going to depend on whether your systems are going against
nu.novell.com, or a local SMT server. /var/log/YaST2/y2log will have more
information about the process than you probably want to see.
