Thanks for that link.  Here's the result:

/usr/sbin/alternatives --config java                
                                                    
There is 1 program that provides 'java'.            
                                                    
  Selection    Command                              
-----------------------------------------------     
*+ 1           /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.5.0-gcj/bin/java  

That's all we installed.
