To be the chairperson of a SHARE session, you don't have to know _anything_
about the subject matter of the presentation. You just have to
- Arrive in the room 15 minutes ahead of time
- Talk to the speaker before the session starts to find out
  - how they want to be introduced
  - if they'll take questions during the talk or not
  - if any press shows up whether they want to let them stay or not.
- Introduce yourself to the audience when the session starts
- Ask if there are any members of the press in the room (even if the speaker
said that was OK, just so they and everyone else is aware)
- During election SHAREs, you ask any candidates in the room to stand
- Introduce the speaker and let them take over
- Count the highest number of attendees in the room during the session, and
turn that in to LVM after it's over
- Keep track of the time to let the speaker know when they have 15 minutes, 10
minutes, and 5 minutes left
- Lead the applause at the end of the session
- Remind everyone to fill out the session evaluation.

About the only other duty is to step in if anyone starts harassing the speaker
for whatever reason. As the session chair you have the power to ask them to
stop, and to ask them to leave if they won't.

It's a really easy job, all told, and gives you a front-row seat for sessions
you probably want to attend anyway. All this gets covered Sunday afternoon at
the "chair bears" session, and in a handout you'll be given there. You can ask
any questions you like at that time to make sure you understand what's going on.
