Changing devices numbers is generally not a problem unless you have lots of dedicated devices. SSI needs a bit of work as well if you have that. DDR is very slow. If you have z/OS, any of its utilities are way better. DFDSS, zDMF (TDMF), or FDR all beat the pants off of DDR. Just have to take down your VM & Linux first though.
