Thanks, good to know this is a known problem. For us it has been triggered by two 3rd party sw in addition to httpd in my example below. Pretty sure those 3rd party sw are 32bit.

We've reported it and have tested the patch. Patch seems good. It seems to be triggered by ILMT here. Can't not run that though. -----Original Message----- From: Linux on 390 Port [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Mohammad Zachariah Sent: Thursday, July 21, 2016 3:26 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LINUX-390] Problem with latest kernel for SLES11SP4 Hi, There is a recent bug detected on this kernel, the problem occurs mainly when spawning 32-bit processes, a patch has been released and still under testing (not sure of the results yet), as a workaround revert back to the previous '71' kernel. The system stalls during boot-up while starting services, e.g. INFO: rcu_sched_state detected stall on CPU 0 (t=6000 jiffies) CPU: 0 Not tainted 3.0.101-77-default #1 Process httpd (pid: 2240, task: 000000000e62e338, ksp: 000000000e3efeb8) ... ... I just opened a support ticket. Just wondering if anybody has seen anything similar with this specific kernel version. Thanks. --- Juha Vuori Fujitsu Finland
