Yeah, I'm on ClefOS:

Although I'm not that familiar with non-yum installation proceses...use to do
rpm install in the Red Hat days....but it's a bit cloudy now. :)

No, you want to rpm --install then go to ~/rpmbuild/SPECS and run rpmbuild -bb
fsiucv.spec after adjusting the .spec Version/Release settings to match your
kernel level. Once built use yum localinstall to install the resulting binary
RPM.
If you are running ClefOS then there are binaries in the EPEL that you can use
yum install to bypass the build/install process.
