Hello,
We want to upgrade from SLES11 SP4 to SLES12 SP4, but my guest is not able
to connect to the ftp repository server (for the installation ISO images)
from the downloaded SUSE installation system.
The SLES11 SP4 system is able to connect, but the IPLed SUSE installation
system (for the SLES12 SP4) is not able to connect (from the same guest).
The system is on private subnet.
The guest has the below network configuration:
q nic
Adapter 0E00.P00 Type: HIPERS Name: UNASSIGNED Devices: 3
MAC: 02-01-00-00-00-57 LAN: SYSTEM BINTPRV0 MFS: 16384
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 06:48:25
q osa

0E00 DEVTYPE HIPER VIRTUAL CHPID 00 IQD

OSA 0E01 ON NIC 0E00 UNIT 001 SUBCHANNEL = 0002

0E02 QDIO-ELIGIBLE QIOASSIST-ELIGIBLE
Ready; T=0.01/0.01 06:48:27
And I used the below parmfile:
ramdisk_size=96000 root=/dev/ram1 ro init=/linuxrc TERM=dumb
instnetdev=hsi osainterface=qdio layer2=0 osahwaddr= Manual=0
Hostname=hostnamexyz.ibm.com HostIP=192.168.98.37/24
Gateway=192.168.98.1 Domain=domainxyz.ibm.com PortNo=1
Broadcast=192.168.98.255 Nameserver=9.0.136.50,9.0.138.50
readchannel=0.0.0e00 writechannel=0.0.0e01 datachannel=0.0.0e02
Install=ftp://[email protected]/glr/InstISO/s12sp4d1
ssh=1 ssh.password=sles12forroot linuxrclog=/dev/console
OsaMedium=eth
The error message:
*** network configuration script failed (error code 17)
Does somebody know, what should be fixed in the parmfile?
Or the hipesocket type connection is not supported from the SUSE
installation system?
Regards / Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Üdvözlettel,
Csaba Polgar
