Hi,

as a followup on the findings of Timothy Sipples regarding qemu, I
checked the state of openSUSE Tumbleweed s390x. The first thing I did
was installing a openSUSE Tumbleweed s390x on my local workstation,
which went quite nicely.

But then, I thought how would it be if the image creation process was
automated and crafted for building and developing Linux packages.

It turned out to be much easier than I thought. Thats why I wanted to
share this here. I did a small writeup on
https://azouhr.wordpress.com/2020/05/29/developing-software-for-linux-on-mainframe-at-home/

I can build and run a specifically crafted virtual machine for a
certain package within roundabout 90s just by running a command like:

osc chroot --vm-type qemu --vm-memory=8192 standard s390x

The description does not cover basics of OBS and osc, but I would be
happy to help if you run into issues.

Berthold
