Hi,

asking for a prospective customer...some of you no doubt remember Hoplon back in 2007 using a Cell processor blade in their z9...

The question:  is anything similar possible with LinuxONE/z15? I'm pretty sure it's not, but am curious.  This prospect envisages using LinuxONE for "gaming" type applications, and is interested in using PCIe-based cards a la the Cell Broadband Engine used by Hoplon way back when.  If it's "not on", so be it, but if it were possible we will have a net new Z client here in Oz.  I did mention to them the NVMe drive holder, but that didn't interest them.  Perhaps this might work via an RPQ...

best regards,
Peter
