Hi,

asking for a prospective customer...some of you no doubt remember Hoplon
back in 2007 using a Cell processor blade in their z9...

The question: is anything similar possible with LinuxONE/z15? I'm
pretty sure it's not, but am curious. This prospect envisages using
LinuxONE for "gaming" type applications, and is interested in using
PCIe-based cards a la the Cell Broadband Engine used by Hoplon way back
when. If it's "not on", so be it, but if it were possible we will have
a net new Z client here in Oz. I did mention to them the NVMe drive
holder, but that didn't interest them. Perhaps this might work via an
RPQ...
Do you mean plugging an arbitrary PCIe card into the machine? No. RPQ
would be the way to go, IMO.
