SVGA.  Whatever comes with RH6.0, I think 3.3.1.

I'm too old to wait that long.  :-)

My point is, it didn't work, I made these changes, and now it works. 
Relatively speaking at least, and good enough for my desktop use. 
Surely there's a bug in *something* that could be found a fixed given
such a scenario.
