Hi,

I had the lockups about once every two or three days, when I left my
system alone say while going ot to dinner.

I switched screensavers: From "-mode random" I now use "-mode ifs".
That seemed to reduce the crashes quite a bit.

Then I added noapic.

Since then my system has been up for about 5 days before crashing.
However that turned out to be a harddisk crash.

So, in conclusion, my system is now up for about a week without
crashing.

I'm going to try the -mode random screensaver again sometime, to see
if noapic was all that I needed.

                                Roger.
