I was wondering if any of you are haveing the same problem. I am running a
dual 400 setup with kernel 2.2.14. With procps 2.0.9 patched for SMP top
is showing like the screenshot at the bottom of the mail. Notice the first
hlds_l process is showing 99.9% CPU usage, while CPU0 is 25% idle, similar
for all other processes. I can have 4 processes running at what top calls
99.9% and that is clearly wrong.
Is anybody else having same problem? Or is there a replacement for top /
procps that fixes this? I'd really like a solaris type top which also says
what cpu each process is running on, but I suppose that isn't built into
the linuxkernel yet.
