Installed 20.4 GB drive on my HPT366, set up a 4GB partition
in Windows, rebooted to Linux.
Linux FDISK shows 1027 cylinders, 255 heads, 63 sectors,
or about 8 gigs.
Reboot, repartition the whole drive in 95, linux FDISK
now sees 1027 cylinders, but reports partitions ending
in the 2400 range. Try doing a big copy to the partition
I create in Linux (3 GB) and get some errors about accessing
beyond the end of the device.
If I boot LILO with the right CHS params, I dont get this.
Have I hosed the partition table now by using 95 to FDISK it first?
I've installed lots of DOS stuff to the first 4 GB partition,
repartitioning would really be a pain - can I just pass
the CHS params to LILO and be done with it?
Sorry for fairly OT post, Im thinking the HPT somehow doesnt report
the drive params correctly to DOS.
