I had never heard of the -x option before, thanks for the info.  Prompted
me to re-read the klogd man page.  

The man page says that running a 'klogd -i' to re-read the module symbols
is recommended anytime after modules are loaded.  A patch for modutils to
do this automatically is available too, but I don't know if it is applied
in distributions like Redhat.  Anybody know off the top of their head?
