Try it. Does your system also freeze when you just do normal things, nothing
related to GL?  Mine doesn't..   Sometimes when I *EXIT* a GL program it
locks up totally, so I can play Quake3 GL accellerated for hours and 
the moment I *exit* the game the whole system locks up on me.
