The debian installer ran it for me.
The installer also informed me that any further software I desired would be
obtainable through 'dselect'.
That's the form of innovation that Linux needs. Only in a more modern
package.

Software that works, with the source viewable the the company's
own IT people isn't a "need" ????
When you have a problem with some software breaking, and 5 people
available to throw at it...and no source code, then you are ENTIRELY
at the mercy of those who hold the source code, and whatever priority
they give to fixing the problem (in relationship to other complaints
by other customers).
Meanwhile, if you have the source code, all available personnel can
be thrown at the problem, and if you're lucky, you might have the
problem solved AND INSTALLED BEFORE open-of-business tomorrow.
or even before close-of-business today.
Try that with closed-source software.
