It's not the engine that made these former hippies' eyes water at the
1999 Detroit International Auto Show.

It was the BODY SHAPE that looked so much like the little Nazi-mobile
they used to drive in the late 60's-early 70's that tugged at their heart strings.

You REALLY don't understand American left-wingers and how SYMBOLISM
permeates everything they do, and their judgement of everybody else.

Too true.

I'm just commenting on the Hypocrisy of the American left-wingers who
get all goo-goo eyed every time they see anything that resembles
Herr Hitler's "People's Car".

Personally, *I* like a lot of VW products....well-designed, easy to
maintain engines. But I don't get all sanctimonious and pretend that
to drive one makes oneself somehow morally superior to other people.

Well-meaning, I'm sure... but... what if someone came along and ruled
that the Third Reich was the source of all that was good and wonderful,
and anybody who said otherwise would be guilty of lying about the
1930-1945 era and the Third Reich.

Many such laws sound good...until someone turns the tables around.

Then why do you keep chastising me for not getting XEDIT to run in

It' helps not to contradict yourself within the space of 2 posts.

"The Hardware" behaves the way that the software on the embedded controller

Actually, a LOT of 1984 has become true...

Look at Monopolyshaft's deceptive use of language.

Look at the IRS's deceptive use of language ("person", as defined
in the Internal Revenue Code, is *not* an individual human being,
but a corporation, partnership, or any of af a number of other
types of commercial "artificial person" registered with the state.

Or...look at the ABC/CBS/NBC/CNN Ministries of Propaganda..

But that's emulation, NOT a port of MS-ware to S/390...

I doubt it.

Hi Ian,

I'm a bit equivocal about this myself. What can someone who doesn't
"respect" Intellectual Property bring to free software? A new userbase that
demands incorporation of proprietary extensions and the means justifying the
ends? That will use cracked commercial software on, for example, Linux
instead of supporting (even by testing/bug reporting) free versions? That
will switch over to Microsoft Linux the second it becomes available :-) (or
that would run a cracked version of MS Office for Linux, leading to it
becoming the de facto standard on Linux instead of supporting OpenOffice).

Experience of free software might however lead to more enlightened views. I
aim to respect IP laws in all aspects of my life. Doesn't mean I don't want
to see IP reform. But how can someone advocate respect for free software
licenses without being a hypocrite if that person is illegitimately copying
etc. other protected material?

Yes I'm posting using Outlook Express on a Win2k box. But my Linux box is
sitting right beside it. And importantly I appreciate the cost of Win2k and
hope that's it is the last MS OS that I need to license.

Regards,
Adam

You could repeating the same thing over and over again. This does not
provide anywhere near the same function as xedit ALL.
