Lets think about that statement for a minute. Microsoft is #79 on the
fortune 500 list. And their activities no matter how extreme would have
almost no impact on the US economy. If they shut their doors tomorrow, what
possible effect could that have besides the fact that users of their
software would eventually end up using something else an a few years. If
they raised the price of the Consumer OS to $1000 it would only increase
pirating and sales of Linux. OEM's would probably start loading Linux or
sell systems without an OS leaving consumers to pirate their own copy of
Windows. But it definitely wouldn't affect the economy.

Lets take a look at some of the Fortune 500 companies that rank ABOVE
Microsoft that aren't under any peril of being broken up but have much more
of a direct relationship with National Affairs, and the economy:

#1 on the Fortune 500 list, Exxon/Mobil - the daily whims of this company
definitely affect the economy. As a matter of fact, they are increasing
inflation as we speak!
#2 WalMart, they move about billion dollars/day in cash. Microsoft is but
a small knat on WalMart's economic ass.
#30 Merk, they could raise the price of a product 1000% at a whim, and many
would either pay OR DIE! Many people ALREADY DIE!

> A group of unelected plutocrats in Redmond, Washington now have more real
power
> at the disposal of their whims than the Congress of the United States.

What power would that be? I submit Microsoft has no power at all over anyone
except maybe their own employees.

No.

I find it rather humorous that septic tanks throw all Islamic people in
one big group, however, very few of you have atually visited Islamic
countries. Many things you do see, such as the extreme or totally
covering up of women, have nothing to do with the teachings of
Mohummad, but instead it is the teaching of Islam crossed with local
customers then those rules bought to the extreme. For example, if you
were to look at the likes of Lebanon, the rules are very liberal in what
women and men can and cannot wear. Also, many of you actually need to
read the koran and realise what the rules really are. They are that
people, both men and women wear modest clothing, hence, don't look like
a slut or skank. I am not surprise that 40 years of xenaphobia since
the Vietnam war has created a nation of people out of touch with other
cultures.

This is what's called a "stack machine", because all work is done through
the stack-pointer. There have been good stack machines, but the TI-99/4
was not one of them.

True.
Allowing any child to attend a public school in the US is child abuse.

be muslim.

Yeah.

You obviously think freedom is not very important, because you hold
in high regard a religious state that offers no freedom.

How do they have a better life ? Your claims that they are "safer" do
not hold water, and even if they did, would you trade all your freedom
for these perceived benefits ? Is freedom really that unimportant
to you ?

Nope, I can just setup a server and mainframe and it just keeps on
work'in, where as the poor o'l NT admin is praying that the server wont
suddenly in the middle of the night crash because of a minor issue. I
can get things done 3 times faster in that I don't need to keep hanging
around making sure the darn thing doesn't crash. With UNIX, you setup,
test, they fuck off home in the knowledge that it will just keep on
work'in.

The retarded sisters: Raunchy (rauni) and Anencephielle (Enielle),
also known as old hags who've hit the wall....

I: Loren Petrich's 2-week stubborn refusal to respond to the

Loren Petrich is a COMMUNIST ***hole

F: Unit_4's "Kook hunt" reminds me of "Jimmy Baker's" harangues against
adultery while concurrently committing adultery with Tammy Hahn.

E: Jet is not worthy of the time to compose a response until

D: Jet Silverman now follows me from newgroup to newsgroup

C: Jet Silverman claims to have killfiled me.

B: Jet Silverman plays the fool and spews out nonsense as a
method of sidetracking discussions which are headed in a
   direction that she doesn't like.

A: The wise man is mocked by fools.
