Uh... Details?
Is this the smbmount from the smbfs package or the one from Samba?
If from Samba, is it from the 1.9.x release series, from the new
2.0.x series (currently alpha), or from the CVS tree (which currently
doesn't even configure smbmount correctly)?
Is this a 2.0.x kernel or a 2.1.x kernel? Is it the latest (2.1.121)
kernel?
Is this a glibc system (ala RedHat 5.x) or a libc system (ala
RedHat 4.x and various others)? This will be where the most trouble
comes from...
All of these make a really big difference with this animal.
I had a great deal of trouble getting smbmount from the Samba
package to compile on RedHat 5.x for the 2.1.x kernels. I had to update
several smbmount, smbmnt, and smbumount includes. I also had to modify
the <linux/smbfs.h> include file, but that fix was checked into the
kernel sources a couple of revs back...
